Core Aeration & Overseeding
Aeration involves perforating the soil with small holes to allow oxygen, water and nutrients to permeate the grass roots. Core aeration reduces soil compaction, which encourages new root growth, creating a healthier and thicker lawn. The most beneficial time to aerate your lawn is early fall.
Aeration is typically combined with overseeding, which is the process of putting seed down. This is beneficial at the time of aeration as the cores created throughout the yard will allow for better seed-to-soil contact, which increases the chance for seed germination.
